ER Wait Times Going Multimedia

What if going to the ER had a similar feature of going to get your vehicle’s emissions’ tested or waiting in line at the DMV?

Yes, folks, your ETW (estimated time waiting) may now be online, sent via text message or flashing on a billboard.  This new marketing tactic some emergency rooms are incorporating is directly aimed at patients with less-urgent emergencies (sprained ankle, cut that may require stitches, etc.).  Although a sprained ankle or deep cut is an emergency, someone who is showing signs of a heart attack is going to take precedence over you in the ER.

So, if you knew the wait time at the ER before going, or even upon arrival, was going to be really long would you consider going to a different ER if you knew you’d receive faster treatment?
