ThyroSafe Potassium Iodide, when taken just before or just after ingestion of radioactive fallout, saturates the thyroid gland and prevents the further uptake of radioactive iodine emitted during a nuclear emergency. Babies and children up to 18 years of age are especially susceptible to thyroid cancer resulting from exposure to radioactive iodine.
