Shock Doctor Eject Helmet Removal System
Shock Doctor Eject Helmet Removal System Description:
The Shock Doctor "Eject" Emergency Helmet Removal System allows medical caregivers to remove closed face helmets quickly and safely, without applying further movement to the head or neck.
In the past, airway compromise required immediate helmet removal, and first responders had to sacrifice c-spine precautions. Medical caregivers no longer need to risk further injury to quickly remove a helmet. Instead, Eject allows for safe and quick removal of the helmet without any pressure being applied to the spine. The Eject Emergency Helmet Removal System helps prevent further neck and spine injuries of crash victims. When any type of cervical spine injury is suspected, first responders can easily remove the helmet without causing further unwanted movement to the victim's head or neck.
The Eject device is a small bladder that fits easily into the helmet. When inflated by an EMT/first responder, this device gently lifts and helps to safely remove a fallen riders helmet, reducing the risk of further neck or spine injuries that can occur when a helmet os pulled off a crash victim's head.
There are two different types of Eject. One is the pre-installed unit (890-01-30), which is placed into the helmet by the rider as a precautionary measure. The other is the type that is used by a first responder when an incident occurs. With the latter, the "Eject" bladder is inserted into the helmet using the EMT insertion tool and then can be inflated by hand with the manual Inflator Bulb, or by using the Eject CO2 Inflator to remove the victim's helmet.
